ShortCUTS #2-2014

Swedish forestry has been very successful in cutting costs. But have we been equally successfull when it comes to revenue?

The productivity has increased dussinfalt since the mechanization started for more than half a century ago. With the same productivity in forestry work now as then, the cost for harvesting would exceed the price of wood by far. Hardly a sustainable equation.

The question is whether we have been equally successfull when it comes to revenue? By optimizing the procurement of wood raw material, we could increase the value of the outcome by perhaps 15-20 percent. In this issue of ShortCUTS, we give some examples of how that is possible.
