To be able to determine the optimum trade-off between numbers of tested candidates, replicates per candidate, number of test sites etc., the cost associated with the activities is needed.
In this report we describe cost functions for eight different pine breeding strategies. Together with results from POPSIM simulations these functions will be used to optimize the genetic output under economic limitations of the strategies.
