Skogforsk is developing models for efficient transport planning, with the aim of integrating all stages in the value chain. This involves linking the entire logistics organisation in a digital chain - from forest to mill.
More efficient planning, control and follow-up can reduce costs, reduce environmental impact, and increase road safety. Skogforsk is also developing new technology and new methods for transporting products onward from the forest. For example, we are helping to develop longer and heavier haulage rigs that can carry bigger payloads, thereby reducing environmental impact, reducing costs, and improving road safety.
