Work environment

In close collaboration with machinery manufacturers, Skogforsk is developing technology, methods and methods of working to improve work environment and increase productivity.

Current research

Reduce vibrations

In collaboration with machinery manufacturers, Skogforsk is testing vibration-dampening systems in forestry machines. The suspension and dampening properties of drivers’ seats are being tested, with the aim of reducing vibration and improving the work environment.

Better lighting

Skogforsk is studying LED lamps as lighting on forestry machines. The new technology can improve work environment as well as reduce fuel consumption and increase productivity.

Healthy work environment

Skogforsk’s web service Riktig Arbetsmiljö (only available in Swedish) provides tips and advice about how to design a better work environment. The site also includes current laws and regulations relating to the work environment.

Interaction between person and machine

What information does the driver need, and how is it to be presented? Through simulation and field studies, Skogforsk is improving the driver’s work environment, in collaboration with FOI and Linköping University.
