Project ETT, One More Stack
The ETT vehicle is being test-driven in Norrbotten over a three-year period from the start of 2009. The vehicle comprises a conventional timber haulage truck, dolly, link and trailer. The rig is 30 meters long with a gross weight of 90 tons, and its payload is 50 percent greater than traditional timber vehicles. The hypothesis is that the ETT vehicle can reduce environmental impact and transport costs by 20-25 percent.
SCA is hosting the project.
Timber flow
Timber is transported from the forest to a terminal in Överkalix on a conventional timber vehicle with a gross weight of 60 tons. At the terminal, an independent loader transfers the timber to the ETT vehicle, which transports the timber approximately 170 km to Munksund in Piteå.
