Forest damage
Insects, storms and animals. Skogforsk is studying how owners of forests and seed orchards can reduce the risks of damage. The objective is greater access to seeds, more vigorous forests with greater production potential and improved economics in forestry.
Current research
Large pine weevil 2014
In partnership with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Skogforsk will develop protection against the large pine weevil for tomorrow’s forestry.

Understanding wild animals
How does the elk influence biodiversity? Can we make fodder for wild animals that will reduce damage in forests? How is economy, production and quality affected by elk grazing and can damage be reduced by cleaning and thinning?
